Job Description

Dear Candidates,

On behalf of our client –  the packaging manufacturing industry - seeking a highly qualified professional to join their team as a Senior Legal Counsel

  • Reports to: Board of Directors / HQ in Germany

  • Working Location: Long An

  • Working Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Monday - Friday & 2 optional Saturdays each month

? MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Legal Advisory & Governance

  • Act as the primary point of contact for managing, handling, and resolving all legal matters across the company.

  • Provide accurate, timely, and practical legal advice to the Board of Directors and senior management on operations, business strategies, and corporate governance.

  • Actively monitor, research, and interpret changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company's business or manufacturing operations.

2. Contract & Document Management

  • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, transaction agreements, and other corporate legal documents.

  • Ensure all contract terms protect the company’s legal rights, optimize business interests, and effectively mitigate contractual risks in dealings with international partners, vendors, and clients.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Establish, enhance, and monitor the company's internal compliance system to ensure all factory and office operations strictly adhere to statutory requirements.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal risk assessments across operational activities and supply chains, recommending robust mitigation strategies.

  • Standardize, review, and evaluate the implementation of internal rules, policies, and operational processes.

4. Dispute Resolution & Legal Representation

  • Represent the company or manage disputes, litigation, claims, and conflicts with third parties to protect the organization's lawful interests.

  • Serve as the main liaison representing the enterprise before governmental authorities and state bodies during official inquiries or legal proceedings.

  • Coordinate, supervise, and collaborate closely with external law firms or legal consultants on specialized or high-stakes matters.

5. Reporting & Other Assignments

  • Prepare periodic legal health checks, compliance reviews, and governance reports for the Board of Directors and HQ in Germany.

  • Perform other related duties as directed by executive management.

Job Requirement

1. Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law (A Master of Laws - LL.M. or a degree from an overseas institution is preferred).

  • Holder of a valid Lawyer Practicing Certificate (Bar admission).

2. Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience working as an in-house Legal Counsel, Corporate Legal Specialist, or Associate at a reputable law firm.

  • Extensive background in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, and Contract law with a strong acumen for risk management. Experience within large-scale manufacturing environments or multinational corporations is highly desirable.

3. Core Skills:

  • Professional fluency in English – both written and verbal (essential for drafting international contracts and reporting directly to German HQ).

  • Exceptional analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and complex legal problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficient in standard office software and specialized legal database search tools.

4. Attitude & Professionalism:

  • Serious, honest, and highly professional working manner with an unwavering commitment to business confidentiality and ethics.

  • Leading by example in showing respect to superiors and colleagues, while maintaining strict labor discipline and workplace order.

  • Objective, proactive, and capable of working under high pressure to meet tight corporate deadlines.

  • Respect the office environment: strictly no late arrivals/early departures, no disruptive noise, and no gathering for eating or drinking during working hours.
