  • Working location: Ho Chi Minh
  • Report to: CEO
  • Company size: 150 employees

Director of Manufacturing Operations Responsibilities include:

  • The Director, Manufacturing Operations will be the business unit manager for a specific Process Team.
  • The Director, Manufacturing Operations is accountable for achieving the process outcomes for the material conversion process for that Team. This position provides strategic and tactical direction to the manufacturing team and promotes the behaviors and principles that drive continuous improvement of the business.
  • The Director ensures that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with Regulatory Local code requirements for quality, employee and environmental safety and health with harmonious employee relations and good relations in the local community.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

30% People Management

  • Mentors members of the manufacturing team, provides input and coaching on professional development after obtaining the relevant functional input and evaluation. Provides feedback and input on performance evaluations for dotted line reports, who are members of the manufacturing team. Teams with the other Functional Leadership to plan and implement talent management of manufacturing and support function resources

20% Metrics Attainment & Continuous Improvement

  • Accountable for achieving targets and business results for manufacturing operations. Reports monthly metrics and any actions identified in the Continuous Improvements Audits. Identifies, prioritizes, and champions capital projects and improvement projects to implement line and changeover improvements, reduction of process variability, and waste elimination

15% Planning & Issue Resolution

  • Leads the manufacturing operations team, providing guidance to resolve issues identified in the daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing processes, as needed. Develops the strategy for planned events, and directs the team to develop tactical plans to meet the strategy

15% Compliance

  • Accountable that the processes managed by the manufacturing team are compliant with Safety, Environmental, Labor, and Industrial Health regulations. Approve atypical investigations escalated for evaluation. Accountable for informing other Functional management and the Site Leadership Team about situations and/or trends that are affecting manufacturing performance (atypical, accidents, events, audit findings, regulatory issues, among others) and request support as needed

10% Divisional Liaison

  • The Director, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for cross functional communications to ensure deliverable timelines are achieved to support Manufacturing and Site goals and objectives. Represents the manufacturing operations team to other organizations, as necessary

10% Budgeting

  • Responsible to develop and monitor operating budget, staffing plan, and recommend capital projects for the manufacturing operations team

Job Requirement

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

● Bachelor’s Degree in Science, or another technical field: Master’s Degree preferred

● Minimum of 2 years with a Masters degree, 5 years with a Bachelors degree, in more than one functional area, such as Manufacturing Operations, Quality Operations, Technical Operations, Manufacturing Technical Support, Engineering (Central, Chemical, Industrial, and/or Process), Production Planning, and New Products Planning

● Concurrently, minimum of 8 years of operations in line positions, with responsibility for direct and indirect reports

● Demonstrate knowledge of Operational Excellence tools and methodology, preferred

● Proficiency required in the following competencies; Empowering leadership including staff development, flexibility, motivation, functional excellence; teamwork/collaboration; results-oriented; problem-solving and decision making; communication and a commitment to continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma

● Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shift
