Job Description
- Establish and lead the category management structure across key product categories
- Define clear roles and accountability for Category Managers, linking ownership to category performance and product pipeline delivery
- Coach and develop the team to strengthen business ownership, commercial thinking, and cross-functional leadership
- Foster a high-ownership, results-driven culture
- Lead category planning aligned with overall business growth objectives
- Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance across sales, margin, inventory, and product success
- Guide strategic decisions on:
- Category focus and product prioritization
- Pricing architecture
- Investment allocation
- Provide clear insights and recommendations for annual planning and business reviews
- Build and implement a structured product development process across categories
- Define key milestones, checkpoints, meeting cadence, and governance frameworks
- Ensure early alignment across Business, Design, R&D, Sourcing, and Quality
- Improve discipline, visibility, and decision-making across the product pipeline
- Act as the owner of the end-to-end operating model across: Category, Design, R&D, Sourcing, QA, Marketing, and Supply Chain
- Clarify roles, reduce silo behavior, and strengthen accountability
- Resolve cross-functional issues and enable timely decision-making
- Minimize unnecessary escalation of operational issues to the CEO
- Improve the quality and commercial relevance of new product launches
- Increase on-time launch readiness and reduce late-stage changes
- Drive post-launch review and continuous learning across categories
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Management, or related fields (Master’s is a plus)
10+ years of relevant experience in Category Management, Product Management, Merchandising, Commercial Leadership, or Product Development
Proven experience in building or improving category management or product development processes in a growing business
Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering business results
Experience in sports, apparel, footwear, lifestyle, or consumer goods is preferred
Strong commercial acumen and organizational leadership capability
Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and evolving environments
