SENIOR MANAGER, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & INTEGRATION

Red Orange's Client is a company that specializes in the Construction industry and is looking for highly qualified Senior Manager, Software Development & Integration candidate for the position at the moment.

Working location: HCM City

MAIN DUTIES:

1. Functional Capability & Team Leadership

• Accountable for building and sustaining a strong Software Development capability, including capacity planning, workforce planning, recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.

• Lead and motivate software development teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

• Manage talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.

• Conduct goal setting, performance evaluations, provide coaching, and develop performance management strategies.

• Direct application development teams across back-end, front-end, and AI/ML domains.

2. Delivery Management & Operational Excellence

• Take overall ownership of delivery outcomes, ensuring project and product commitments are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.

• Lead cross-functional teams consisting of Scrum Masters, IT Business Analysts, Developers, QA, and DevOps, operating in a matrix organization model to fulfill client requirements.

• Oversee the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC), implementing best practices including Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, and continuous improvement.

• Manage multiple complex software development projects simultaneously while optimizing development processes and implementing efficiency improvements.

• Align business stakeholder demands with team capabilities and capacities.

• Prepare, establish, and monitor budgets, including headcount and resource planning where necessary.

3. Strategy, Planning & Technical Guidance

• Lead the pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations to stakeholders.

• Participate in the project/product development lifecycle to ensure delivery meets business and end-user requirements.

• Analyze existing digital products and recommend improvement strategies to the senior leadership team (Board of Directors).

• Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system product acquisitions, ensuring new software integrations meet functional and compliance requirements.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project/product managers and development teams while staying current with emerging technologies.

4. Cross-Functional & Off-shore Collaboration

• Establish and maintain strong communication channels between on-shore/near-shore and off-shore teams in Vietnam.

• Develop and implement collaboration frameworks to ensure seamless integration, facilitate knowledge sharing, and manage cultural differences.

• Work closely with the Software Quality Assurance Manager to apply best practices regarding processes, metrics, and tools.

• Communicate project/product status updates, risks, and issues clearly and concisely.

1. Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Preferred: Certification or practical experience in CMMI, SAFe, Agile/SCRUM, COBIT, or Enterprise Architecture.

2. Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive software development management experience.

• 5+ years of experience explicitly managing offshore or distributed development teams.

• A proven track record of leading large, complex software development organizations within a matrix multinational environment.

• Hands-on experience with software project management and software product lifecycle models.

3. Technical & Domain Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

• Experience with programming languages including Java, .NET, or Python, alongside modern development frameworks.

• Practical experience with software management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

• Experience or understanding of AI, Generative AI, ML, Data BI, cloud-native applications, information security, and secured software development.

• Expertise in microservices, containerization, and scalable system design.

• Experience with civil engineering software products is considered an advantage.

4. Soft Skills & Professional Attributes:

• Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

• Ability to handle complex, matrixed organizational environments seamlessly.
