Job Description
Dear Candidates,
On behalf of our client – a reputable main contractor specializing in industrial construction and infrastructure projects – Red Orange is currently seeking a highly qualified professional to join their team as an EHS (Safety) Officer.
The detailed job description is outlined below:
Position: EHS (Safety) Officer
Reports to: Project EHS Manager / Project Manager
Working Location: VSIP 3, Tan Uyen, Binh Duong
Working Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Monday - Friday & 2 Saturdays per month
? MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Tender / Pre-Contract Stage
Support the tender team by proactively identifying major construction safety risks and proposing robust mitigation measures.
Provide accurate EHS inputs for method statements, risk assessments, and construction safety planning.
Review all specific EHS requirements derived from client specifications and official contract documents.
Assist in preparing preliminary EHS plans and overarching project safety strategies.
2. Execution Stage
Onsite EHS Management: Perform daily site safety inspections, identify unsafe conditions or unsafe acts, and closely monitor the EHS compliance of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on-site. Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems including hot work, work at height, confined space, and lifting operations.
PPE Management: Manage and control the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for project team members and subcontractors. Ensure proper distribution, usage, and replacement of PPE, monitor inventory records, and coordinate with procurement or administration for timely replenishment.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with Vietnamese Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) laws and construction regulations. Maintain EHS legal registers and coordinate smoothly with local authorities, industrial park management, and regulatory inspectors.
Training & Awareness: Conduct site EHS induction training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Organize daily/weekly toolbox meetings, lead periodic safety training sessions, and promote a proactive safe working culture on-site.
Incident Management: Thoroughly investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Conduct deep root cause analysis, prepare accurate investigation reports, and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain all mandatory EHS documentation including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and PTW logs. Prepare clear weekly and monthly EHS performance reports for the Project Manager and company executives.
Coordination & Communication: Participate in regular safety walkdowns and EHS meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Coordinate emergency preparedness activities including fire evacuation drills and crisis response exercises.
3. Testing & Commissioning Stage
Ensure strict safety procedures are implemented during all testing and commissioning activities.
Rigorously monitor electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during energization and equipment testing.
Coordinate with commissioning teams to effectively control high risks related to equipment start-ups and system testing.
4. Project Closing Stage
Ensure all project EHS documentation is fully completed, finalized, and archived according to corporate protocols.
Participate in final safety inspections before project handover and compile final EHS performance reports alongside lessons learned.
5. Other assignments as directed by the Line Manager.
Job Requirement
1. Education & Professional Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Engineering, or a related discipline.
Deep knowledge of Vietnam EHS laws and construction safety regulations.
Strong familiarity with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, and advanced understanding of hazard identification methods.
2. Professional Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of solid EHS experience explicitly within construction, MEP, industrial plant, or cleanroom projects.
3. Core Skills:
Good English communication skills – both written and verbal – suited for cross-functional project coordination and working with foreign consultants/clients.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and on-site stakeholder coordination capabilities.
4. Attitude & Professionalism:
Serious, meticulous, and highly proactive working manner with a strong eye for detail on site.
Leading by example in showing respect to superiors and colleagues, while maintaining strict labor discipline and site regulations.
Highly resilient, capable of working independently under tight project schedules and intense site pressure.
Willingness to travel or relocate based on project assignment.
